TEFAF 2026, an excellent edition

Each edition of TEFAF is remarkable, but some years seem even better than others, and this is the case for 2026 (until March 19). We saw a large number of major works, and it is often difficult to make a choice, especially as we prefer not to show more than one work per stand, while some are filled with magnificent objects, and we also want to highlight objects that, even if not among the most important, have real heritage interest. All the works of art recorded in Paris churches before 1905 and the law separating Church and State belonged to the City of Paris, and all those in Notre-Dame belonged to the State. Since then, however, many of them have entered the diocese's collections, either as gifts or bequests. These works, which are not in the public domain, may be exhibited in religious buildings and visible to the public, or they may be in the outbuildings of these buildings, such as sacristies, or in other places that cannot be visited.

News from Bayeux

Le Parisien informed us in an article dated 11 July that Nicole Paolini, a resident of Bayeux who died in March at the age of 86 and had no children, had bequeathed assets worth an estimated 2 million euros to the Musée Baron Gérard, the municipal museum in Bayeux. A fundraising for Orléans

Talabardon & Gautier sales at Ader

In a first article, we announced that we would review the Talabardon & Gautier sale organised by SVV Ader. The sale will finally take place in two sessions on Tuesday 21 and Thursday 23 March. The works in the first auction, mainly paintings and oils on paper, are currently on display at the Hôtel Drouot, while the drawings will be shown on Wednesday 22 March.
