Highlights include a fine medallion by Alsatian sculptor Ringel d’Illzach, a portrait of a man (ill. 1), several works by Antoine-Louis Barye including a copy of his Theseus Fighting the Centaur (ill. 2), and a marble representing Diana by Alexandre Falguière (ill. 3).

The other two sales will take place on Wednesday 13 December, and are both from the funds of merchants, Albéric Froissart and Jacques Fischer. In the case of Albéric Froissart, this is unfortunately an estate sale, as he passed away almost exactly a year ago (see news item 14/12/22). It is organised by Thierry de Maigret. The second, Jacques Fischer, is fortunately still very much alive: although he has now retired, he nevertheless wanted to organise an exhibition of Romantic bronzes. In the end, he decided against it, and the exhibition will be held at Artcurial on the same day.
- 4. Jean-Marie-Bienaimé Bonnassieux (1810-1892)
Tomb Effigy of the Duchess of Luynes
Stucco and wood - 30 x 146 x 45 cm
