Orléans: successful fundraising continues

6/5/25 - Acquisition and fundraising - Orléans, Musée des Beaux-Arts - Always more! This could be the Musée des Beaux-Arts d’Orléans’ motto for its acquisitions. In just a few days, the fundraising campaign launched to buy the painting The House where Joan of Arc was Born, before its Restoration, with Jean-Baptise Jollois and Charles Pensée by Jean-Antoine Laurent (see the news item of 26/4/25) was a success, raising the €30,000 needed to add it to the collections.
However, as stated on the fundraising page, should this amount be exceeded, the surplus will be used to contribute to the restoration of Charles Pensée’s works at the Musée d’Histoire, as well as to make an additional acquisition, from the same gallery Talabardon & Gautier, of a watercolour by François Étienne Villeret showing…
