With a view to publishing a monographic study dedicated to Paul (Jean, Marie) Lafond (1847-1918), I am looking for his drawings, paintings, etchings, copper plates, article illustrations... and more generally all of his visual artworks.

Paul Lafond, born in Rouen on 1 July 1847 and died in Pau on 21 September 1918, was a French draughtsman, collector, art historian, etcher and lithographer, as well as curator of the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Pau. While his contribution to art history remains a reference point, his pictorial work is less well known, although it has already entered certain museums in France and abroad.
I would be extremely grateful to anyone who could inform me of the existence of works by this artist in museums, art galleries or private collections. This would enable me to analyse them in comparison with those I have already catalogued, gain an understanding of this part of his work as a whole and finally publish the results of this study, illustrated with all these elements.

Any information relating to his work or any archival documents would be invaluable in enriching this research, particularly if you are familiar with the history of these works: photographs (family, exhibitions, works in situ), exhibition or auction catalogues, letters, invoices, etc.

I assure you of my discretion and invite you to contact me at the following email address:
catalogue.paul.lafond@gmail.com

Best regards,

Marie des Neiges de l’Eprevier
