Emmanuelle Delapierre, from Caen to Nantes

31/3/25 - Appointment - Nantes, Musée d’Arts - Starting in the north of France, Emmanuelle Delapierre’s career has been steadily moving southwards, as the director of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Caen is preparing to succeed Sophie Lévy at the Musée d’Arts de Nantes in June. In the autumn of 2024, we learnt that the latter was to take over from Jean Blaise as director of Voyage à Nantes, the iconic cultural event launched in 2012! The curator - born in 1973 - will certainly not be disorientated by leaving Caen for Nantes. It must be recognised that these two museums offer quite similar programmes, alternating sometimes demanding monographs and highly successful thematic exhibitions, even if their collections and their histories are rather different.
