A painting by Frère Luc purchased by Amiens

19/3/25 - Acquisition - Amiens, Musée de Picardie - Claude François, known as Frère Luc, is certainly not the greatest 17th-century French painter, but his works are often of very high quality. Numerous discoveries have been made concerning him and we often report on them. One more must be added to these new paintings, a canvas brilliantly identified by the director of the Musée de Picardie, Pierre Stépanoff, in an Ader-Nordmann sale on 18 June last year, acquired for €1,500 (excluding fees) and donated by the Société des Amis du musée.
