A painting by Bonnefond donated to Amiens

6/11/23 - Acquisition - Amiens, Musée de Picardie - A new painting that belonged to Bruno Foucart’s collection has just made its way into a museum, the Picardie Museum in Amiens, this time donated by Vincent Foucart, another of his brothers, who is also President of the Friends of the Museum Society and who inherited it on his death. It is a Monk’s Head (ill. 1) by the Lyon painter Claude Bonnefond (sometimes called Jean-Claude Bonnefond), a study or partial replica of a painting in the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon Poor Pilgrim Overwhelmed by Fatigue (ill. 2).
