20/5/26 - Acquisition - Paris, Musée d’Orsay - We had briefly mentioned it in the article devoted to the regrettable absence of preemptions that had arisen during the sale of an important group of glazed stoneware offered by the Thierry de Maigret auction house at the Hôtel Drouot on 4 June last (see the news item of 3/6/25). A large Dalpayrat planter (ill. 1 and 2), together with a large jewellery casket by Henri-Auguste Fourdinois, recently and expensively acquired, justified, according to the Musée d’Orsay, its inaction in the face of the works then dispersed by Jean-Marie Pointu, Eugène Lion and, above all, Paul Jeanneney, none of which is represented in its collections.
