A Bazzani acquired by Mantua (and another found in Chaumont)

27/12/24 - Acquisition and discovery - Mantua and Chaumont - Little is known about Giuseppe Bazzani’s early career. Few works are dated with certainty, making it difficult to establish a chronology within his output. However, the Palazzo Ducale in Mantua recently acquired a painting by the artist, Christ and the Pilgrims on the Road to Emmaus, through the Galerie Mossini, which may provide an insight into the early stages of his art (ill.1).
