A bas-relief by Henry Cros for the Musée des Arts Décoratifs

9/4/25 - Acquisition - Paris, Musée des Arts décoratifs - As announced by the Nicolas Bourriaud gallery at the end of last week, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris has acquired a glass paste bas-relief by Henry Cros that it was offering for sale (ill. 1), thanks to the Jean-Paul Teytaud bequest. A fortunate allocation for this Study for the Vase with Pastoral Subject, a copy of which is kept by the Parisian institution and is most probably the one from the 1900 Universal Exhibition (ill. 2). The only glass paste vase currently preserved by the sculptor, it was one of the key pieces presented in the monographic exhibition dedicated to him by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs last spring (see the article).
